It is no longer enough to have data base administration, data administration and data management. The proliferation and large growth of data in organizations today requires a much more comprehensive view of data. To manage this, the role of the Chief Data Officer has emerged and is rapidly growing.
This course is intended for people who want to put the ideas and concepts of data governance into effective use in their organizations. Data governance also requires a competent technological infrastructure for enablement.
Prerequisites:
A laptop or sharing of laptops is required to work on the exercises that are part of the workshop.
Certification Requirements
All course attendees must meet minimum testing standards including in-class exercises to receive certification (75% is the passing grade).

Meet your expert course trainer: Michael Miller
Mr. Miller has over 35 years of IT experience primarily in banking, securities and insurance as well as experience in retail, telecommunications, petroleum, and pharmaceutical industries. He began his career in computer operations, programming and systems design, and then moving on to consulting roles in enterprise architecture, data management, and business intelligence.
Michael’s previous consulting roles include National Director of Enterprise Architecture and Business Intelligence, Executive Consultant CRM COE, and Principal – Management Consultant. He holds four master degrees (Business Administration, Project Management, Telecommunications Management and Information Systems Management) and has done over two years of doctoral work in Knowledge Management. He is a board member of the Data Management Association – Chicago Chapter, a Certified Business Process Management Professional (ABPMP), Certified LEAN Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and a Certified TOGAF Enterprise Architect.
A noted international speaker on Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, Data Governance, Data Warehouse and Metadata Repository development, Data Management and Corporate Taxonomies, he is presently a Global Information Architect for a major global bank.
